History of the Roseburg Dream Center

Dream Center in Los Angeles

The first Dream Center was started by Matthew Barnett in Los Angeles over 30 years ago. Later in 2009, Matthew came and spoke at a local church here in Roseburg, Oregon. Twelve individuals from that local church went and served at the Los Angeles Dream Center on a short term mission, and they came back burning to see our community transformed through meeting people's needs in love. The Roseburg Dream Center was birthed in the south end of Roseburg and began providing clothing for individuals and families in need.

Under the Bridge, another ministry of the Roseburg Dream Center, was also launched. The mission of Under the Bridge has been to build relationships and share the love of God with our unhoused community by making and taking sack lunches and basic necessities out into the camps on the first and third Saturdays of every month. This ministry is still going strong today!

In December of 2016 the Roseburg Dream Center relocated to the basement of a local church where things expanded once again; and we began serving the community as a soup kitchen, serving both breakfast and lunch to an average of 100 people four days a week. In December of 2019 the Roseburg Dream Center moved to a larger location and expanded services offered by becoming a food pantry.

Today, the Roseburg Dream Center offers a free clothing boutique along with a free food pantry that serves the greater Roseburg area. We are still growing and expanding in both vision and services in order to bring solutions to the growing needs of our community. Our mission is that through meeting immediate needs and building relationships with those in need, we seek to bring hope and change lives physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Our Purpose

The Dream Center's purpose is to change the lives of people physically, emotionally, and spiritually. We do this by providing a place for people to come and connect with an atmosphere of love and hope where they can have some immediate needs met.

Our heart is to partner with our entire community to see transformation come. We accomplish this by organizing with individuals who are eager to serve and see change come. We don't just offer food and clothing, we offer relationship, connection, and opportunities for both our clients as well as our volunteers.

Many people want to help but don't know what to do or how to do it. We provide an opportunity for people to be activated on a level that suits them to meet the needs of others.

Our Mission

  • To provide a place to connect, get physical needs met, and build relationships that open doors for transformation.
  • To create sustainable change through relational equity, and acts of kindness and empathy.

Our Directors: Jeremy & Hollie Grammon

Man and woman

Jeremy and Hollie have lived and served in Roseburg for over 25 years. Just after getting engaged, they moved to Roseburg with Jeremy’s parents in order to help serve in a church on Newton Creek Road. They were married in June of 1999; and over the years, they have raised their 3 children Hannah, Kyler, and Kaitlyn and have been active in multiple facets of the local community.

Although much of Jeremy and Hollie's service has been in the faith community, they were also heavily involved with the community through local 4-H, Homeschool Co-Op, and YMCA organized youth activities along with community building projects. They served as the youth pastors and worship pastors at Newton Creek Church until 2008. In 2003, they also joined with TrueNorth Star Ministries full time to serve as mentors, educators, and ranch facilitators for TrueNorth Star Boys Ranch where they served until 2015.

Jeremy and Hollie established a house of worship in 2010 that has provided corporate worship and encounter services Monday through Friday at 8 am for the community of Roseburg. They also helped plant 4 churches from 2010-2017, and in 2018 they became the Senior Pastors of Faith Foundry church where they currently lead. Over their years of service and ministry, they have worked with a vast demographic of individuals and families coming out of trauma, addiction, mental illness, criminality and homelessness. They have co-led weekly recovery meetings and have worked with TrueNorth Star Ministries’ Vocational Rehab, 2nd Chance Foundation, Clean and Sober Discipleship Housing, Elevate Conference, and Elevate Recovery since 2010.

In October of 2022, Jeremy and Hollie accepted the invitation to become the new Directors of Roseburg Dream Center. Their passion and desire to see lives transformed through the love of God and relational discipleship stirs them to build communities of support and healing for those who feel broken, alone, overwhelmed, and afraid. The Roseburg Dream Center is one of these communities that seeks to change lives, physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Jeremy and Hollie are excited to share their life with those around them, bringing hope and light into the darkness.
